CPWD does declare the Cost Index for various locations at times, which can be obtained from local CPWD office (or downloaded from CPWD website if uploaded). But this is rare, and generally not available for our location. We thus calculate the updated Cost Index and get it approved for our Project...

It is a matter of astonishment that in the Circular published by CPWD authority, Cost Indices for almost all the states were published but there is nothing about West Bengal. I shall be grateful if this point is clarified.

In case of W.B there is no information about the C.I after 2004. It is fact that The same can be prepared by any valuer, but a question of authority always plas a vital roll in case of Income Tax and High Court  valuation cases. So it is requested that the C.I of Cities and Towns in W.B. May kindly be published at the earliest.

Dear Sir,                                                                                                                                                                              31.10.2015.

It is not understood, once Cost Indices of most of the states are available in up to date form, then in case of West Bengal, the indices are not being published. updated. I request the Valuers World authority to contact the CPWD Head quarters and request them for sending the datails in this Forum. We the valuers are entrusted with various types of valuations which are related to CPWD Plinth area rates and seraching for the same, but in vain  particularly in case of West Bengal.. It is fact that This can be derived by us from the available rates and weightages, but this require authentication. So it is requested that concerned authority may please be asked for immidiate publish all the P.A.Rates and Cost Indices as approved by the Local authority at the earliest please.
