Dear All

As per the attached circular on forum of Chief Commissioner Income Tax [ Admin ] Ahmedabad Gujarat Dated 7-4-1989

electronics engineering is treated as equivalent to electrical engineering for purpose of appointment of valuer of plant and

machinery under 34 AB of Wealth Tax Act 1957 .

Punjab National Bank also recognizes Electronics Engineering Degree as valid for Plant and Machinery Valuation.

Also , as most of the plant and machines nowadays have major components related to electronics engineering so IOV should also include electonics engineering engineers qualified for plant and machinery branch .

IOV SHOULD AMEND ITS CLASSIFICATION AND INCLUDE ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS VALID FOR PLANT AND MACHINERY CATEGORY .

Dear Nishantji,

Thanks for positing above msg. on the portal, would you be in possition to post the same order here. As one of our Gujarat (Vadodara) based valuer is facing the same issue in Union Bank, even though he has registration as Plant & Machinary Valuer from Wealth Tax Act under section 34AB however Union bank says he is not a electrical engineer and being electronics engineer he can not do so.

It would be helpful for every one to have such order copy.

Thanking You,

Mohit
